All the teams have made it to Troll. Reports from the mushers are of an overall favorable trail, a few spots where some new snow would have been nice but as far as I have heard, no major issues. We all know that as the race goes on we will hear the stories of the trail. As of this report no moose encounters except for the very large one the kids and I saw on the Barkerville highway on the way out to Troll.
The arrival times are as follows, the earliest departure time for the teams are after their arrival time.
Craig Houghton in at 9:38:28, 1:38:28
Jerry Joinson in at 9:42:30, 1:52:30
Warren Palfrey in at 10:07:22, 2:19:22
Randy Mackenzie in at 10:13:21, 2:21:21
Abram Perry in at 10:42:14, 2:46:14
Ross Adam in at 10:43:21, 2:49:21
Kim Verge in at 10:44:50, 2:46:50
All the teams are resting well and looked good coming in. I am headed back out to the fire by the dogyard so will probably not update again until all the teams have left. Some teams are planning to leave at their expected departure times while a few have already decided to stay until early am.
The weather forcast is for some light snow tonight with a high 80% chance of precipitaion for the rest of the weekend, up to 6 cm. Let's all pray for snow. At this moment the moon is full and gorgeous and I am looking forward to relaxing under it by the fire until the morning. More news tomorrow.
