While it is early in the training season to have all of our race schedule decided upon, we do have some races we are sure to attend already.  For some of the other races, we will base our decisions as to attend or not on how the dogs are doing in training as the fall progresses. 
Here is what we do know is in the works:

GREAT SLAVE 200 - Yellowknife, NorthWest Territories. December 15-16, 2007.
This is the only distance race in the North and we will be entering two teams in this one. We look forward to testing the dogs out. We plan to  run some of our younger dogs in this race and give them the experience of  a longer race. This year's race will be run from Providence to Yellowknife with a good portion of the trail running right along the highway. It will be a great race for spectators so come on out and support the teams.

IDITAROD 2008 - Anchorage to Nome starting March 1, 2008.
This will be Warren's second running of the Iditarod after finishing with 12 healthy dogs in 2006. He ran the last Iditarod  to learn the trail and this year is planning on running a competitive team . You can find out more about the race's history  and follow the actual race at www.iditarod.com.

YELLOWKNIFE DOGTROTTERS RACES
We will be participating in our local club races as well. These are sprint races. We find this is a good time to test out our young dogs and give them race experience. The kids all get to race in these and enjoy it immensely. These races are held on Grace Lake and Back Bay 
and are a great chance for Yellowknife locals to come out and check out the dogs and be part of the excitement. 

The race schedule is as follows: 
December 2, 2007  - On Grace Lake - 6 Dog, 4 Dog, 2 Dog, 1 Dog, and Skijoring
December 26th, 2007  - On Grace Lake  -The Annual Christmas Race - 10 dogs,  20 miles 
December 27, 2007 -  On Grace Lake - 6 Dog, 4 Dog, 2 Dog, 1 Dog and Skijoring
January 5, 2008 - On Back Bay - The  30 Mile Race
January 6, 2008 - On Grace Lake - 6 Dog, 4 Dog, 2 Dog, 1 Dog and Skijoring
April 5-6, 2008 - The First Great Slave 200/ Stage Stop Combination Race - Locations and detail to come at a later date.
April 13, 2008 - On Grace Lake - 6 Dog, 4 Dog, 2 Dog, 1 Dog and Skijoring and Annual Spring picnic following the races.
