After  numerous 35-45 mile runs we are at a point  where we need to be going on longer runs.
 So anticipating more camping trips this year we purchased a Wall tent and wood stove and set it up out on Great Slave lake... In the middle of nowhere, and marked a trail to it. We are now able to go on 70 mile runs.
We still have the dogs pulling massive amounts of weight, Our last run I used 16 dogs with 120 lbs of food, and our handler Annie running a tag sled. ( about 550 lbs total) Kate used the tobbagon with 120 lbs of food (400 lbs total)and 12 dogs We did the run in just over 6 hours.
I am trying to keep the pulling total  weight per dog up around 35 lbs per dog.


I have set up the trail to  mimic  various trail conditions jumble ice, glare ice, twisty trail and the incessant wind of the big lake.
The only thing we do not have a lot of  overflow right now, but that changes all the time here, and the dogs have experienced it before.
