Hello all, Just a brief note before heading out to feed the pooches. Warren drew start position number 7 for his departure at the banquet this evening. It is a good position and he seems happy with the draw. Especially with all the snow that has fallen these last few days and that is falling even as I write, the earlier out in the snow the better. The banquet was at a new location this year - a smaller place than the Sullivan arena and it felt more intimate and had better sound effects than the arena. We had two nice couples at our table this year besides the six of us, one were a returning couple from Georgia and the other were new Iditarod fans from Florida. We enjoyed talking with them and hope they enjoy their Iditarod journey - we appreciate their support. Peter and Jesse really enjoyed getting as many autographs as possible along with our friend Tom Thurston's daughters. The rest of the family seemed to enjoy themselves as well. I sent out the second sled today and we will be planning to to get more things organized and ready for the ceremonial start and the restart. All for now as the dogs are a calling. Kate
