Good afternoon all,
According to the GPS tracker Warren and the team are on the move towards Nome. The official standings still have not been updated as yet. I expect the run into Nome will take 10-11 hours. From what I hear the weather is pretty nice today so hopefully this last leg of the journey will be nice for them all. I wish I could be a raven in the sky and watch their progress. But alas, I am in a cafe in Wasilla awaiting on some truck repairs - and if you are reading this Warren don't worry it is nothing major just preventative steps before the long drive home next week. It shouldn't break the bank! I had hoped it would be a quick fix but they need parts from Anchorage so I will probably be spending the day here. At least here I can check out the Insider stuff and catch up on emails. The kids chose to stay out at John's this morning so they could go sledding so happily they are still enjoying their day under the watchful eyes of big brother Sam. I don't think they would enjoy hanging out in the cafe the same way I do! They also have a bookstore attached to the cafe so when the computer battery runs out I will venture over there. While I would rather be in Nome or running the extra dogs in Willow, this will have to suffice. At least I do have a spectacular view of the mountain from the window here - ah...good for the soul. I hope to soon have a report from Warren to update you all. I am optimistic I will be able to reach him via phone this evening after his arrival. I expect he will have a good turnout for his arrival as I have been recruiting everyone I know there and they are all recruiting others. Should be fun. And a HUGE thank you to Diana and Jamie for getting the crates for me in Nome and being sure that the dog yard is set up for Warren's arrival. Please give some loving to W and the dogs for me!!
