Good Morning all,
Well it is a busy day all around in the dog world. In Park City, the Jackson mushers have been visiting with spectators and about now should be starting the short run in town. Rumor has it that the trail has been shortened to four miles from eight. After the mushers are finished the Junior mushers will take to the trails. This is a really fun part of this race. Our Junior mushers in years past have been great kids, all super excited about the dogs. I believe they all still have to do an essay and volunteer work in order to be considered to become a junior musher. A great experience for the kids on many levels. For so many of us in this sport it is such a pleasure to share our passion for the dogs with the kids.

In Whitehorse, the Yukon Quest teams are all hitting the trail. I have heard that the weather has gotten cooler and they have figured a way around the overflow on the river near the start. Yukon Quest 300 mushers will be leaving this evening starting at 5pm. We wish them all safe and happy travels on the trail.

Here in Quesnel, we have an absolutely gorgeous day with the tress filled with a light hoarfrost and bright blue skies. I will head out on a training run here shortly.
