21 , that's  the number of mushers that have signed up for the 2009 Yukon Quest.

Notables are Sonny Linder, Lance Mackey, Jon Little 
Still a few months to sign up before the deadline.

We are starting the season with 36 dogs in training, 7 of which are 2 y/o and a very nice mix of 3,4,5 and 6 y/o

I have after longs hours and many dreams finally figured out my positives and negatives of the season last year.
The best description would be as follows-
Lets say you have a.. Oldsmobile, It may not get you there quick, but its pretty easy to drive, not much to go wrong, but again not very quick or responsive.
Well we don't have "Oldsmobile's" here, Our dogs are more like Ferrari's, fined tuned, they are amazing I have seen glimpses of this last winter , for example in Montana , running 130 miles  with a 4 hour break in the middle in 17 hours , aslo in the Great Slave 200, where I finished the race 2 hours ahead of the closest competitor, Ken Anderson.
What I have determined over the summer, is that I may have had a Ferrari , but I didn't know how to drive one.There are some keys things that I should have done but didn't do. I know for sure that I understand better the mentality of the dogs and feel more connected with them on a higher level.

With some youthful enthusiasm infused this winter, it will be an exciting , and very busy winter.
I am really looking forward to  showing the athletisim of these dogs off in the Quest, don't expect a constant 10 - 14 hour run out of our team, The only way records will be broken is with speed, not length of runs.
